Renowned pedagogue
Berlin, 1912
Spivakovsky's main teacher at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatorium was Professor Moritz Mayer-Mahr, the renowned pedagogue who had been a direct student of the immortals Franz Liszt and Anton Rubinstein. When Spivakovsky completed his studies in 1910, the Professor provided this written endorsement: "My young pupil is without doubt one of the great talents of our time" and the Conservatorium Director and conductor, Robert Robitschek, presented Spivakovsky with a certificate which he had inscribed: "The undersigned director can say that in his experience there have been no similar cases of such meaningful musical intellect and rhythmical gifts."
