Incomparable in Tchaikovsky

In 1927, Spivakovsky was engaged for a series of concerts by Maestro Hans Knappertsbusch and they became an incomparable combination in the Tchaikovsky piano concerto no. 1. From their performance with the State Opera Orchestra in Munich, the review by noted critic Alexander Berrsche in the Munchener Zeitung: "The solo part was played by the Russian, Jascha Spiwakowski, with a technical and musical finish such as I have never before encountered in this concerto."
