In 1927 Spivakovsky gave a wildly successful tour of the Latin countries of Europe. His warm Russian expressionism combined ideally with the temperament of his audiences, which showed unprecedented levels of enthusiasm. The Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco was greatly impressed with the young Russian pianist and dedicated several compositions to him.
