The London Proms
London, 1921

In 1920 Spivakovsky took a steamer to Great Britain for the second time and met with brilliant success. His recitals at Royal Albert Hall sold out and triggered scenes of wild enthusiasm. He was invited by Sir Henry Wood for nine performances under his baton with the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, including the 1921 Promenade Concerts where they performed Tchaikovsky’s piano concerto no. 1.
